Wall Anchors are best used in unfinished spaces where the opposite wall walks out or does not have a soil burden to brace against.  These reach out into the yard and use the soil in front of the to hold the wall, utilizing tension.   These do require continued maintenance but perform well in the long-term with that maintenance.
